Somewhere, Over the Rainbow... Now it’s stuck in your head right?
I love a rainbow coming out of the clouds and that exactly what this pattern is about! This is a great pattern for a paper piecing beginner. There are no tricky points to match (the rainbow is contained within a single template and clouds are meant to be a bit irregular!) and of course no Y seams - just straight lines my friend!
It’s a 9” quilt block, but if you want other sizes I’ve included a chart to help you resize it.
Plus if you are keen to sew the rainbow without the cloud you can just sew Template A and then trim it down - you will get a 5” quilt block with a 1/4” seam allowance!
This pattern has all the usual features you would expect from one of my patterns:
- both left and right facing templates of this 9” block (so you could make them facing each other for a whole rainbow arch with two clouds!)
- colour templates to help with accurate fabric placement
- colouring sheet
- 1/4” seam allowances on all templates
- layout diagrams and clearly labelled templates
- clearly written instructions to help with constructing the block.
To ensure that the pattern prints out at the right size, please make sure that you have unchecked “scale to fit page” in your printer settings. Instructions to reduce or increase the size of the finished block are included, however, it should be noted that some of the numbered sections are very small and reducing the size may result in a loss of detail in the finished product.
Once you have purchased the pattern you can sew as many as you like (as long as you don’t mass-produce or share the pattern). Finished items incorporating my pattern can be sold at local markets and online. Credit to Kohatu Patterns for the design if selling online is always highly appreciated, although not an essential requirement.
If you friends like the pattern please encourage them to buy their own copy and support an independent designer!
Your files will be available to download once payment is confirmed.
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
Each of my patterns has been developed with care and tested by multiple people. However, if you find a mistake in one of my patterns, please send me an email containing a photo of the mistake or detailed description (page number and problem) within 30 days of your original purchase. I will not only refund your purchase, but will also provide you with another pattern free of charge as well as a corrected copy of the pattern you originally purchased when it becomes available.
It's not a mistake. Most of my patterns are Foundation Pieced Patterns and Fabric requirements can vary greatly depending on your technique, experience and level of skill.
I have found that most people like to use scraps from their stash or Fat Quarters to make smaller Foundation Pieced blocks.
Large Patterns and Patterns that are not Foundation Pieced will have a list fabric requirements.
The item you have purchased is digital in nature. I highly recommend you download it immediately after purchase and save a copy of this file to your computer for future use. However if something goes wrong and for some reason you can no longer access your pattern, email me with a copy of your receipt, date of purchase or Etsy order number and I will send you another copy as soon as I can.
